In this video I'm going to give you a very quick tutorial on how to remove rust from metal.
In my case I was going to be removing rust from a windmill prop and a few hand tools.
I first used a rag to wipe off all the dirt and dust before throwing them in the tub with the windmill.
Then I continue to add in the vinegar until it was completely submerged.
The vinegar is a mild acid so it gets in there and just slightly chews up the rust.
And since I was already de rusting this I. Grab a few of my daddy's tools out of his toolbox.
You need to neutralize the acidity on the surface of the metal and to do this I filled up a tub with water and baking soda.
You want roughly 1 cup of baking soda per gallon of water and you want to let it sit in this mixture for around 10 minutes .
After it was done, I let it dry, then came back and gave it a coat of Osvo , which is just a chemical that will give it a rust inhibiting coating.
