High Performance Rodeo: How Taylor Mac put a queer spin on the history of music with 24-hour spectacle

Each hour represented one decade of music, starting with 1776-1786 and ending with 2006-2016 .
It was shortlisted for the Pulitzer Prize and helped Mac earn a Genius Grant from the McArthur Foundation .
Taylor Mac in Conversation with Denise Clark will take place Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Martha Cohen Theatre as part of the High Performance Rodeo .
Mac followed up 24-Decade with the four-hour rock opera Bark of Millions , which features more than 50 originals co-written by Mac and Matt Ray .
