Journalist who reported on extortion shot dead, prosecutor's office bombed in Peru

Gaston Medina was gunned down as he was leaving his house in south-central city of Ica.
He was shot multiple times by gunmen and declared dead on arrival at hospital.
Medina had reported on growing problem of racketeering by criminal gangs who threaten bus drivers, shopkeepers, hairdressers and teachers.
In separate attack, two people were injured when a bomb exploded outside the prosecutor's office in Trujillo .
