Ean Coutts, 60 , had gone missing from his home in Kinglassie , Fife, in September 2019 .

His body was found in a derelict warehouse in Glenrothes , Scotland , a year after he went missing.

A facial reconstruction was created to identify the remains of the missing man.

David Barnes was to go on trial accused of the army veteran's murder.

He assumed Ean's identity on 91 occasions to obtain thousands of pounds of cash and goods.

Ean Coutts ' cause of death could not be determined but a forensic pathologist told the court there were areas of charring to soft tissue and bone.

The defence argued that there was no evidence that Barnes had killed Ean.

He was found guilty by a majority verdict and was sentenced to life in prison.
