A Lego save for my precious minifigure and I used magnets as the lock and key.
I designed the dials and there are two trap notches on each dial locking the magnet before it reaches the correct notch, which is deeper and leaves no protruding on the dial's round surface.
Without the key, magnets will soon fall into traps once you try to spin the dial.
Only when the key is applied, the magnets are attracted away from traps and you can spin dial to the correct spot.
This is an upgrade for the woofer Tumblr lock.
The Tumblr lock uses a set of levers to prevent the bolt from moving within the lock.
Increasing security means adding more tumblers makes the lock significantly wider and too bulky.
A modified version appeared to solve this issue, which is called the lever Tumblr lock.
This lock provides better security because any error in the key notches will render the key non functional.
