Calgary Philharmonic pays homage to reggae legend with world premiere of A Tribute to Bob Marley

A Tribute to Bob Marley will have its world premiere on Feb. 8 at the Jack Singer Concert Hall .
The Calgary Philharmonic will be joined by guest conductor Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser and vocalists Ammoye , Omega Mighty , Soji Joseph and Steele .
The show arrives just in time to mark what would have been Marley ’s 80th year .
There are genres, like reggae, that don’t receive the same financial backing, promotion and radio play as others.
But that’s not the only way to measure their worth, Jones says.
“Maybe we can look at these other genres that might not necessarily in Canada have the backing, but globally have an impact,” he adds.
