Elon Musk the leader of Mars? Rumor suggests old science fiction novel may have predicted it
82% Informative
A stranger Musk -related rumor circulated online about a 1953 book that predicted the leader of Mars would be called " the Elon " There is no tangible evidence that this was a "prediction" The claim gained traction after SpaceX founder Elon Musk said it was possible "within the next four years to do an uncrewed test landing there".
"Menschen zwischen den Planeten " was based on Wernher von Braun's novel, " Project Mars: A Technical Tale" Author F.L. Neher , a well-known author of sea and aviation novels, re-wrote the novel.
Neher 's version of the novel was published alongside illustrations in 2006 .
The term " Elon " does not appear in that novel, as the Martians are extinct, unlike the von Braun original.
Wernher von Braun is widely regarded as a pioneer in rocket science.
The assertion that von Braun 's 1953 book "predicted" Elon Musk's space career is not rooted in evidence.
