Paula Moltzan wins bronze medal in giant slalom for first individual medal at this level.
Minnesota native finished fourth in team event at the last worlds two years ago .
Her only major medal had been a victory with the U.S. team in the same event at last worlds.
She became the fourth American woman to earn a medal this year at worlds, after her partner Lauren Macuga's bronze.
Shiffrin will be back for Saturday ’s slalom and Moltzan will be chasing their second medal of the championships.
