Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman was an early supporter of Bernie Sanders' bid for the presidency in 2016 .

In those days , he was a fierce critic of the president, calling for a pardon for Trump over hush-money payments to a pornstar.

He has been a lone Democratic voice, or one of very few, in support of other Trump cabinet nominees, and in some cases have contradicted his past statements.

Fetterman said he would “fully support” US forces being deployed under Trump ’s plan.

His staunch support for Israel is among the things that have put him at odds with the Democratic party's progressive wing.
