Poland 's first ever abortion clinic has opened in Warsaw on International Women’s Day .

Abortion Dream Team says it is 'fully compliant' with all relevant regulations.

Opponents say it violates the law because a woman cannot be punished for having an unlawful abortion.

Anyone who helps her do so can be jailed for up to three years .

Currently, only legal terminations in Poland are permitted in two narrowly restricted circumstances.

Current abortion law was introduced by a 2020 constitutional court ruling issued under the rule of the conservative former Law and Justice ( PiS ) government.

In December 2023 , a new, more liberal coalition led by Donald Tusk came to power.

However, it has so far failed to pass any such legislation due to disagreements within the coalition.
