5,100 new jobs — Study tallies Windsor economic benefits of NextStar EV battery plant

A Workforce WindsorEssex report measured just how substantial the economic benefits to the region are of having the NextStar Energy battery plant locate in Windsor .
The battery plant is expected to be directly responsible for creating 5,100 new jobs.
It’s also resulted in $16.5 million in government funding for training programs to upskill workers for the new industry.
