Liberal leader Mark Carney pledged to launch Build Canada Homes , a national developer that would build 500,000 residences a year.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre pledged to create a national energy corridor that would speed up approvals for energy-related infrastructure projects.

The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation predicted that 5.8 million new homes are needed by 2030 to put a lid on further home-price escalations.
