After a devastating knee injury, Maximov underwent surgery for a full ACL tear and meniscus injury, it took him 18 months to recover.
Maximov hopes to return to the UFC after a successful four -fight UFC run.
Maximov has changed his training with legendary coach Jason Parillo to improve his striking.
The Russian believes his maturity would make a second UFC run more dominant.
"Dudes are just so much more mature and bigger and more manly," Maximov said.
