Before his election win last fall , Donald Trump famously boasted that he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine on "day one" of his second term in office.

Reaching a ceasefire agreement during the first 100 days of the second Trump presidency, let alone a peace deal, has arguably proven much harder than the White House leader expected.
