George Chahal appears headed for defeat in Calgary McKnight as Conservative lead widens

George Chahal appeared headed for defeat in the newly formed Calgary McKnight riding.
The former Calgary city councillor was positioned early to become the first -ever Liberal MP from Calgary to serve two consecutive terms in Ottawa .
He trailed Conservative candidate Darwinder Gill with most of the riding’s 196 polls reporting.
Chahal threw his support behind Carney back in January , before the former Bank of Canada governor had even launched his campaign.
He also expressed support for Carney ’s vision to turn Canada into an energy superpower” while also focusing on the needs of the local community.
