After celebrating a Liverpool league win together as lads, here we were again 35 years later ’ Here we were: older, greyer, slightly more creaky but somehow, impossibly, just the same.
For me, it wasn’t just about watching football; it was about passing on something precious, just as my own grandad once did for me’.
The last time I saw Liverpool win the league was as a second-year student at the University of Liverpool .
Never felt assured we would win it even when 11 points clear, but perhaps the sense that it would really happen came when Arsenal dropped more points against Brentford just when Liverpool was beating the Hammers ! Chun Wei , Singapore , was lucky enough to be at the game and I’ll never forget it. It just felt so special to see my club, and the club of my dad, grandad and great-grandad win our 20th title in the flesh.
I’ve been an avid Liverpool fan since I was 12 , long before Mo Salah was even born.
In 2012 , I was able to save 2,500 to travel to Anfield and watch our game with Man Utd , which we sadly lost 2 -1.
This season has been enormously astounding. With the culture Klopp nurtured, and the work rate Slot maintained, I knew from the very beginning of this season that he would take us back to where we belong. We’re back on our perch!.
