WIRED spoke to four of social media’s best shit-talkers for tips on how to emerge victorious from an online skirmish.

I want to be having open conversations with people about science, no matter where they’re at" Science Sam says he's had people spam his accounts, share my photo with devil horns because I talked about vaccines, threaten me.
He says when people are rude to you, it says more about them than you.
As a rule, I ignore trolls online, as long as it's not worth getting upset about things on a (mostly) anonymous forum.
If I took time out of my day to respond or read every hate message I got I would be a very busy person.
I don't respond to everyone, because there’s simply not enough time in the day .
