The game's overall wackiness and dynamism brought me back to those cherished gaming moments, except this time, I got to experience them with a way fresher coat of paint and a modern physics system that provided me with hours of gleeful mayhem.
The physics system is another high point that really enhances the fun.
The most disappointing ones happen towards the game's conclusion, ending everything on a sour note.
Deliver At All Costs is at its best when it's embracing its own absurdity.
Far Out Games made a mistake by not following that wacky spirit all the way through.
The game's sharp turns create a huge problem for the actual gameplay, too.

Mario Kart World is a tremendously fun Mario Kart game that hones the franchise’s trademark fun to a hilarious, borderline sadistic, and nearly scientifically perfect degree.
It's tempting to call the open world “tacked-on,” but I would argue that's not really appropriate.
The idea that all of these tracks are physically connected to one another is baked into the design of the major modes.
The Knockout Tour mode, which is the game's biggest highlight, takes players on a Cannonball Run-esque cross-country race.
Mario Kart World is one of the best-looking games of 2025 so far.
The driving mechanics here are maybe my favorite in any Mario Kart game.
The Switch 2’s big boost in horsepower over its predecessor makes it an absolute delight to look at pretty much at all times.
But the online features could be a bit more fleshed out in a couple of ways.

There's a lot of vital information you can get from your Oura ring, but chronotype is my favorite feature.
It's given me tangible info that genuinely improved my quality of sleep.

The new film Materialists touches on height and romance as well, and now it's the topic du jour once again.
Focusing on appearance seems to be a plague on modern society; see the obsession with plastic surgery broadly and the meme about wanting a "man in finance, trust fund, 6'5", blue eyes" The Journal of Social Psychology published an article about height in mate selection back in 1954.
Materialists accurately scalps daters' obsession with looks and superficial traits, hence the title.
Beyond someone's physical traits, what makes someone hot is their personality, their interests, their empathy and care for others.
In order to have real connections, it's time to shed what social media and influencers say we should have and focus on what matters.

The main thing to know: 4K refers to resolution, and terms containing -LED refer to lighting.
Recommendations for the best TVs to buy in 2025 are at the bottom of this guide.
The main disadvantage of QLED TVs is dulled contrast, especially when it comes to black levels.
OLED TVs are ideal for people who watch a lot of dimly-lit content that gets muddied on basic TVs.
Not all TVs can get bright enough to fully take advantage of HDR's brightening capabilities.

U.S. researchers say it's possible to coordinate the operation of large numbers of air conditioning units to balance supply and demand on the power grid.
The benefits include increasing reliability of the grid, which makes it easier for the grid to accept more renewable energy, they say.
The goal is to turn air conditioners into an asset, supporting a shift away from fossil fuels toward cleaner energy.
Johanna Mathieu: When people set thermostats, they pick a temperature, and the thermostat switches the air-conditioning compressor on and off to maintain the air temperature within a small range around that set point.
Mathieu says air conditioners were able to provide frequency regulation at least as accurately as a traditional power plant.

Michael McLeod, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart, Dillon Dube and Callan Foote are accused of engaging in non-consensual group sex with a then-20-year-old woman in June 2018.
The five men pleaded not guilty to sexual assault when the trial began on April 22.
A mistrial was declared after a juror accused a defence lawyer of making contact with another juror in line for lunch.
Court heard the complainant, known as E.M., testified she was drunk and not of clear mind.
Only Hart would testify at the trial, while the other players’ lawyers cited evidence and police interviews that were already played in court as part of the reasons why their clients were opting not to testify.
The Crown argued the men were “reckless” for engaging in group sex with E.M. and not seeking her affirmative consent.
Court will resume on July 24, when Carroccia will deliver her ruling.

Canada’s new housing minister Gregor Robertson failed to address the paradox on his first day on the job.
Robertson blithely answered the question he was asked: “Do you think that prices need to go down?” It was a trick question loaded with subtext: which massive cohort of Canadians do you plan to screw over, the ones who own a home or those who don’t.
Conservatives repeatedly accused Robertson of causing Vancouver's housing crisis during his time as mayor.
Vancouver became the first city in Canada to impose a speculation tax and impose an empty homes tax.
Robertson’s oft-repeated claim to have built more affordable housing than any other mayor in Canada tends to ring hollow.
Many of the ideas Robertson came up with have since spread across the country.
Canada doesn’t need hundreds or thousands of new homes, it needs millions of dollars, says housing expert.
