New York state Attorney General Letitia James is subject of a criminal referral for alleged financial fraud to secure her own property loans.

The allegations against James run from the demonstrably false to the downright bizarre.

James is accused of claiming through her representative that the property would be her principal residence.

She is unlikely to be prosecuted by New York prosecutors by prosecutors by the Justice Department .
