In the age of The Golden Bachelor, it’s increasingly rare to find peace in older men like Phil Robertson

Frida Ghitis: Phil Robertson , the patriarch of Duck Dynasty, passed away two days ago .

She says Robertson recorded every duck hunt since the 1980s , recording 60 days of each season .

Ghitis says Robertson was a study in faith and family virtue.

He says it's increasingly rare to find that kind of peace in older men, especially in the age of The Golden Bachelor .

Phil Robertson was deeply addicted to drugs and alcohol and sex, and his young family was dirt poor.

Phil kicked his entire family out of his home.

He was fed up with the sin and solitude and was cast back in solitude.

At 28 years old he was baptized. He then began the slow process of mending back together a family that had until then known only turmoil.
