Pro-life group calls on Trump administration to protect access to progesterone, used to reverse the abortion pill

Progesterone, a hormone women produce naturally, has an important role in sustaining pregnancy and can reverse the effects of mifepristone, the popular abortion pill.

New York and California have launched investigations and lawsuits trying to crack down on progesterone.

The pro-life group 40 Days For Life wrote to the White House asking them to acknowledge the safety of the drug.

“We urge you to implement federal regulation and law that preserve[s] the right of health care professionals to provide progestestone to reverse [abortion pill] for those women who so choose, without fear or threat of frivolous over-bearing litigation," the group wrote.
