Rep. Kevin Hern: Trump’s proposed rescissions would save billions and eliminate wasteful spending

The House of Representatives is expected to vote on the Rescissions Act of 2025 in response to a formal request submitted to Congress by President Donald Trump .

From 1974 to 2000 , it was commonplace for the president to request rescissions of funding under the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 .

Every president from Gerald Ford through Bill Clinton both made rescission requests to Congress and signed them into law.
